Former minister Asad Umar questioned whether the government is spending crores of rupees daily on security with IMF approval.
In a post on X, he stated that whenever relief for the public is discussed, the government claims the IMF disagrees.
"Now that they fear losing power," he asked, "are the daily expenses of millions on security being made with IMF backing?"
Umar also approved of PTI's decision to change the date of its long march to October 4th:
"Wear them down. Keep talking alongside it. Under this pressure, they will hold serious discussions."
Sohail Afridi, Chief Minister, stated at a press conference at the Chief Minister’s House that complete preparations had been made for the long march, with numerous vehicles and motorcycles arranged. He claimed that if any misadventure occurred, the public would take to the streets within 24 hours of a call.
Regarding his potential disqualification, Afridi said he would become even more dangerous if removed, adding that people would take to the streets and the government wouldn't be able to stay in power. According to him, Imran Khan himself would choose a replacement if he were disqualified.
Afridi gave the federal government a final seven-day deadline for negotiations and confirmed that the decision to march towards Islamabad on October 4th was firm. He warned that workers were prepared to come out within 24 hours if the government attempted any adventure during this period.
