Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has stated that those embracing violence and disorder are adversaries of Pakistan's progress and prosperity.
In her message on World Peace Day, Sharif praised the courage and sacrifices of Pakistan's armed forces personnel guarding the borders for peace. She also acknowledged the police and other security forces working tirelessly to maintain law and order across the province.
Sharif paid tribute to martyrs who laid down their lives for peace and expressed respect for the Ghazis. She noted that World Peace Day serves as a reminder to practice tolerance and forbearance.
According to Sharif, lasting peace is crucial for Pakistan's development and progress, with happiness flourishing only through peace. She emphasized the importance of every individual contributing positively to societal peace. The Punjab government, she added, is dedicated to promoting peace, tolerance, and interfaith harmony.
Sharif defined peace not as simply the absence of war but as living with justice, love, and respect.
Meanwhile, she commended security forces for neutralizing 8 terrorists in Hangu and honored the memory of Captain Abu Zar Farooq, Lieutenant Shiraz Babar, and 4 soldiers who became martyrs. She expressed condolences to their families, lauding the courageous bravery demonstrated by these individuals in defending the homeland.
