Three Arrested For Taking Bribe

SARGODHA, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 11th Sep, 2026) The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) arrested three persons, including a survey engineer of the Urban Unit, for allegedly demanding and receiving bribes from poor citizens under the Punjab government’s Apni Chhat Apna Ghar housing scheme.

According to ACE officials, Assistant Director Atif Shaukat conducted the operation in Noorpur Thal and arrested the three accused—Nauman Rafique, Zafar Hussain and Muhammad Ikram. The ACE team also recovered Rs30,000 in marked currency notes from them.

According to complainant Shahbaz Hussain, the accused were allegedly demanding bribes in exchange for facilitating approval of loans and registration of applicants on the scheme’s portal.

The ACE official said strict action was being taken under a zero-tolerance policy against corruption in the Punjab government’s welfare projects.
