Three-day 18th ‘Sartyoon Sang’ Crafts Exhibition Concludes in Karachi

KARACHI (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News) (6th Sep, 2026) – The three-day 18th ‘Sartyoon Sang’ crafts exhibition concluded in Karachi on Sunday. Sindhi handicrafts made by rural women were showcased at Ocean Mall.
The event, organized by the Sindh Rural Support Organisation (SRSO) with support from the Sindh Government, displayed a diverse range of traditional crafts including home textiles, baskets, jewelry, dresses, dupattas, and shawls, all adorned with intricate embroidery and cutwork.
Objective: The exhibition aimed to provide market access and better income opportunities for rural women artisans in Sindh. SRSO has established Business Development Groups (BDGs) in operational districts, training over 15,000 women members in crafts skills.
Participating Artisans: Rural women artisans from various districts of Sindh, including Badin, Ghotki, Jaccobabad, Kashmore-Kandhkot, Khairpur, Larkana, Matiari, Mirpurkhas, Noshehro Feroz, Qambar Shahdakot, Sanghar, Shikarpur, Sukkur, Thatta, and Umerkot, displayed their products.
The event was jointly inaugurated by Sadia Javed, Spokesperson to the Sindh Government and Member Provincial Assembly (MPA), and Senator Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of Benazir Income Support Program (BISP).
