Traffic Police Intensify Crackdown On Reckless Driving, Road Rage
LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Sep, 2026) The traffic police have intensified their crackdown against motorists involved in reckless driving, road rage, racing, drifting and removing silencers from motorcycles, officials said on Sunday.
In the latest action, a vehicle allegedly involved in reckless driving and creating panic among citizens in the Defence Phase-VI underpass was intercepted. Police stated that the driver was subsequently arrested for dangerous driving on Mall Road. A case was registered against the accused at Islampura Police Station, and he was taken into custody.
According to police, the accused had also uploaded videos of his dangerous driving and drifting on social media.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore stated that those involved in road blockages, dangerous driving, and creating panic among citizens would not be spared, assuring continuous action against such elements as per the law.
Separately, traffic police also took action against two heavy-bike riders for allegedly disturbing the peace and tranquility of citizens late at night.
The CTO appealed to citizens to identify and report individuals involved in road blockages, road rage, and activities causing panic among the public, promising legal action against such elements.
