Two Food Units Sealed For Safety Violations Ahead of Eid Milad-un-Nabi(PBUH)

Muzaffargarh, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – August 26, 2026) Two food units were sealed for serious violations of food safety regulations during a joint operation conducted by the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) and district administration ahead of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), here on Wednesday.

According to a PFA spokesperson, the operation was supervised by the Assistant Commissioner (AC) and Deputy Director (DD) Operations of the PFA, with inspections carried out at food outlets, bakeries, and sweet shops on Ali Pur Road, Iqbal Chowk, Jhang Road, and Adda Tillery. The spokesperson stated that two units were sealed until improvements are made, as foul-smelling meat and unhygienic conditions were found during the raid.

Large quantities of malodorous meat, substandard spices, and fungus-infected vegetables were also confiscated and destroyed. A case was registered against a bakery owner for adulterating food products with starch, while four food points were fined a total of Rs. 1,40,000 for violating hygiene and food safety standards.

PFA Director General (DG) Raja Mansoor Ahmed emphasized that special monitoring is being conducted around Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) gatherings and Langar facilities to ensure the provision of safe and quality food to citizens. He added that ensuring safe and quality food for citizens on this blessed occasion is the top priority of the authorities. The PFA and district administration will continue inspections to prevent the preparation and sale of substandard food during the celebrations.
