UAE Ambassador Meets President of Congress of Colombia
UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Colombia, Mohamed Abdulla Al Shamsi, met with Honorio Miguel Henríquez Pinedo, President of the Congress of the Republic of Colombia, at the Congress headquarters.
During their meeting, the two sides discussed:
- Longstanding friendship and cooperation between the UAE and Colombia, as they celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations this year.
- Economic and trade relations, with a focus on expanding bilateral trade and diversifying economic and investment cooperation.
- Completing ratification procedures for several bilateral economic agreements, emphasizing the need to expedite the process.
- Strengthening parliamentary cooperation between the UAE Federal National Council (FNC) and the Congress of Colombia, including reactivating the memorandum of understanding and parliamentary friendship committees.
At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and advancing parliamentary and economic cooperation.
