UAE Condemns Attack On UN Peacekeeping Troops In Jonglei State In South Sudan
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has strongly condemned the attack which targeted United Nations peacekeeping troops in Jonglei state, South Sudan, resulting in the death of two peacekeepers and injuries to others.
In a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the UAE expressed its:
- Strong condemnation of this "heinous" attack.
- Permanent rejection of all forms of violence undermining security and stability.
- Solidarity with UN international peacekeeping forces and participating countries.
- Support for international efforts to maintain peace and provide humanitarian aid in conflict zones.
The MoFA conveyed its condolences to the families of the victims and sympathy to the injured, wishing them a speedy recovery. They also reaffirmed their condemnation of attacks targeting peacekeeping forces, highlighting them as violations of international law and UN Security Council Resolution 2802.
