UAE, Mongolia Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Strengthen Clean Energy Cooperation
UAE and Mongolia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen their cooperation in renewable energy and green hydrogen, exchange expertise, build capacity, and explore joint project opportunities in the energy sector.
Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of UAE, and Togmid Dorjkhand, Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia, signed the MoU.
Al Mazrouei stated,
“The MoU reflects UAE‘s commitment to expanding international energy partnerships and building practical cooperation with Mongolia based on its national needs and priorities. It offers an opportunity to leverage Mongolia‘s renewable energy potential to contribute to energy security and sustainable economic development.”
He further added,
“We look forward to leveraging UAE‘s expertise in clean energy and project development, in collaboration with our Mongolian counterparts, to explore practical and scalable opportunities in renewable energy, green hydrogen, and related infrastructure. This will aid in addressing Mongolia‘s development needs and supporting the diversification of its energy mix.”
The cooperation will focus on:
- Exchanging knowledge and technical expertise.
- Building capacity.
- Exploring economically and technically viable investment opportunities, encouraging private sector participation in projects that serve both countries’ priorities.
The MoU covers:
- Sharing experiences and expertise in the energy transition.
- Exploring the development of renewable energy projects in Mongolia.
- Implementing training programs to develop specialized skills.
- Promoting cooperation between public and private sectors in developing clean energy infrastructure.
Both sides agreed to establish a joint working group to:
- Identify priority areas of cooperation.
- Assess the feasibility of proposed opportunities and projects.
- Follow up on their development to serve their shared interests and strengthen bilateral energy sector cooperation.
