UAE Participates in Second G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting

NORTH CAROLINA (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM – 01st Sep, 2026) The UAE Ministry of Finance actively participated in the second meeting of G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors, held in Asheville, North Carolina, United States, on 31st August and 1st September 2026, under the US 2026 G20 Presidency.
The discussions covered a wide range of economic and financial priorities, including:
- Global economy updates and growth prospects
- Digital transformation and skills development collaboration
- Sovereign debt challenges
- Addressing global economic imbalances
- Enhancing private sector participation in growth and investment
Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, emphasized the value of G20 members’ cooperation and coordination to foster sustainable and balanced economic growth. He also highlighted the exchange of best practices and successful government service development experiences.
Al Hussaini noted that these efforts contribute to improving economic resilience and adaptability to rapid changes. He stated:
"The G20 is a crucial platform for international collaboration in tackling global economic challenges. The UAE emphasizes leveraging technology, innovation, and investing in human capital to build resilient and competitive economies."
The UAE showcased its initiatives in digital transformation and government service enhancement, demonstrating its commitment to efficiency and business facilitation. Additionally, the country highlighted programs aimed at developing national talent skills for future job market demands.
During the meeting, the UAE also stressed the importance of global cooperation to handle debt issues, enhance transparency, and consider emerging and developing economies’ needs when addressing global economic imbalances, thereby promoting stability and inclusive growth.
