UAE Records AED1.9 Trillion in Non-oil Foreign Trade During H1 2026, Says Minister of Foreign Trade at AIM Summit

DUBAI (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM – 07th Sep, 2026) Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade and Chairman of the 15th edition of the AIM Investment Summit 2026, which opened today at the Dubai World Trade Centre, emphasized that the UAE has solidified its position as a global hub for trade and investment. This achievement is supported by an open, agile, and multipartnership economy, advanced infrastructure, and a conducive legislative and regulatory environment favorable to business.
The summit brought together 25,000 participants from 191 countries and organizations, featuring 540 global speakers across 103 keynote, interactive, and dialogue sessions. Al Zeyoudi noted that the AIM Investment Summit 2026, themed ‘Reshaping Global Prosperity: Opening New Investment Pathways Towards a Sustainable and Inclusive Future’, occurs at a pivotal moment. The global economy is undergoing rapid transformations driven by technological advancements, geopolitical realignments, intensifying sustainability efforts, and the emergence of new growth centers worldwide.
The UAE, proactive in these changes, has developed an economic model centered on openness and international partnerships. As evidence, the country’s non-oil foreign trade exceeded AED1.9 trillion during the first half of 2026. Furthermore, in 2025, the UAE attracted $48.3 billion in FDI inflows, placing it ninth globally among the largest destinations for foreign direct investment, with a cumulative stock of FDI exceeding AED1.17 trillion.
Al Zeyoudi predicted that the coming phase will witness significant shifts in the global economic landscape, a transition towards technology-led economies, and the transformation of sustainability into an investable opportunity. He highlighted the importance of investing in future sectors like artificial intelligence, clean energy, climate technology, food and water security, and sustainable infrastructure.
Emphasizing the UAE’s role as not just a market but a global platform for growth, expansion, and market access, Al Zeyoudi stressed the significance of building long-term partnerships fostering knowledge transfer, technology exchange, employment opportunities, and sustainable and inclusive growth. The UAE aspires to continue serving as a bridge connecting markets and economies, opening new avenues for trade and investment.
