UAE Sends Fourth Relief Aircraft to Nepal, Total Aid Reaches 186 Tonnes
The UAE’s fourth relief aircraft arrived in the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal today, carrying approximately 38 tonnes of aid, including 500 tents and 108 relief packages. This shipment continues the UAE’s humanitarian efforts in response to the recent disasters in Nepal, where floods and landslides left hundreds dead, injured, or missing.
With this latest delivery, the total humanitarian aid transported by the UAE to Nepal via air has reached a significant 186 tonnes. The aid includes essential items such as food, shelter, medical supplies, and various relief and logistical equipment to assist those in urgent need.
Dr Mahabir Pun, Minister for Science, Technology, and Innovation in Nepal, expressed gratitude for the UAE’s continuous relief assistance, which has aided numerous victims of the floods and landslides.
The UAE’s relief efforts are complemented by the provision of supplies from the local market in Nepal, expediting aid delivery. These activities are closely coordinated with local authorities to ensure aid is distributed according to on-the-ground needs.
Additionally, the Dubai Police search and rescue team continues its operations in affected areas, employing advanced technologies and equipment for search and assessment, in collaboration with Nepalese authorities.
These initiatives reflect the UAE’s consistent humanitarian approach, swiftly responding to crises, supporting affected communities, and fostering international solidarity in times of need.
