UAE Team Emirates-XRG Gears Up for Canadian and Italian Classics
UAE Team Emirates-XRG is gearing up to compete in several significant one-day races in Canada and Italy as part of its preparation for the UCI Road World Championships, which kick off on September 20th.
Canadian Campaigns
The team will begin its campaign at the Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec on Friday, followed by the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal on Sunday, facing off against some of the world’s top riders.
The Canadian races feature a roster including Brandon McNulty, Isaac del Toro, Felix Großschartner, Jhonatan Narváez, Florian Vermeersch, Tim Wellens, and Adam Yates, led by sports director Simone Pedrazzini.
This marks Mexican rider Isaac del Toro’s first appearance in Canada since his recent victory at the Tour de Luxembourg, while Brandon McNulty returns to Montréal as the defending champion.
While pursuing its first win at the GP de Québec, where Pavel Sivakov finished second last year, the team boasts an impressive history at the GP de Montréal, having won the past four editions through Tadej Pogačar (2022, 2024), Adam Yates (2023), and Brandon McNulty (2025). This year’s GP de Montréal promises a demanding route with 16 laps of a 13-kilometer circuit around Mount Royal, featuring steep climbs like the Côte de Camilien-Houde, Côte de Polytechnique, and Côte Pagnuelo.
Italian Races
In Italy, the team will participate in three consecutive races:
- Coppa Sabatini on Thursday
- Memorial Marco Pantani on Saturday
- Trofeo Matteotti on Sunday
The Coppa Sabatini lineup includes Igor Arrieta, Filippo Baroncini, Jan Christen, Benoît Cosnefroy, Luca Giaimi, António Morgado, and Adrià Pericas. The team aims to defend Isaac del Toro’s title from last year, having won the past three editions.
Following the Coppa Sabatini, they will compete in the Memorial Marco Pantani in and around Cesenatico on Saturday before concluding with the Trofeo Matteotti in Pescara on Sunday. The team has won four of the past seven Trofeo Matteotti editions, most recently with Isaac del Toro in 2025.
