The AJP Asia Continental Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2026 concluded today at Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi after three days of intense competition. Organised by the Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro (AJP) and sponsored by EDGE Group, the championship attracted over 2,000 male and female athletes from 90 countries.
Day 3 Highlights:
The final day featured exciting competitions for teens, youth, and professional athletes across various belt levels. The championship showcased remarkable technical performances and highly competitive bouts, culminating three days of international participation.
Key Attendance:
- Abdulmonem Alsayed Mohammed Alhashmi, Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, President of the Jiu-Jitsu Asian Union, and Senior Vice President of the Jiu-Jitsu International Federation
- Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation
- Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri and Yousef Al Batran, members of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation board
- Abdullah Al Wahibi, Executive Director of the Sports Development Sector at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council
- Nasser Khamis Al Marri, Director of the Olympic Sports Department

- Overall Country Standings: UAE (568,100 points), Brazil (153,200 points), Kuwait (107,440 points), Russia (76,680 points), Jordan (60,720 points)
- Academy Standings: Commando Group (UAE, 128,300 points), Al Jazira Jiu-Jitsu Club (77,000 points), ADMA International (64,880 points)
Yousef Al Batran, Board Member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, commended the championship’s high level of competition and technical prowess, highlighting Abu Dhabi’s prominent global position in jiu-jitsu.
"We witnessed strong competition and closely matched performances throughout the championship, particularly on the final day," said Al Batran. "This intensity and excitement, with athletes from around the world participating, highlights the continuous growth and global expansion of jiu-jitsu."
