Much of the UK is expected to experience cooler temperatures starting from Tuesday, alongside spells of rain, particularly in northern and western regions. The rest of the week will remain unsettled with further rain.
Week Ahead Forecast:

Tuesday: Relatively warm and muggy in central and southern England, while northern and western areas will feel cooler. A cold front will bring rain to England and Wales. Fresher north-westerly winds will bring showers, some heavy, to Scotland, Northern Ireland, and northwestern England and Wales. Maximum temperatures will be around 5°C lower than Monday’s values, ranging from 17°C to 22°C across the UK.

Wednesday: A drier and brighter period.

Rest of the Week: Further spells of rain are expected, with temperatures remaining average at 15°C to 20°C. Overnight temperatures will drop to 8°C to 12°C, prompting commuters to consider layering up.
While it might feel like autumn has arrived, conditions can fluctuate with wind direction, leading to shifts between cooler and warmer weather within a day.

Saturday: A west or south-westerly wind will bring warmer temperatures, returning to above average.

Next Week: There is a possibility of temporarily higher temperatures, but a September heatwave appears less likely.
El Niño’s Impact: The recent El Niño event has resulted in a record-breaking hurricane season and is expected to make autumn warmer and wetter than normal.
