Ukrainian TV Channel Building Hit by Russian Drone as Five Killed in Kyiv
A Russian drone struck a Ukrainian TV channel headquarters in Kyiv, injuring at least five people as journalists were broadcasting live, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky.

At least five people have been killed in overnight and daytime Russian strikes on Kyiv, while a separate attack on a passenger train in southern Ukraine resulted in the death of a female employee, officials reported.
Both countries had agreed to halt strikes on each other’s capitals for three days during US President Donald Trump’s top envoys’ visits to Moscow and Kyiv over the weekend.
Zelensky stated: "Today, Russia carried out a strike on the media, journalists… Russia must be stopped, and this is possible only through joint efforts."
On Tuesday, air raid alerts prompted civilians in Kyiv to seek shelter as Russian forces launched missile and drone strikes on the capital, according to local authorities.
Explosions rocked Ukraine’s capital overnight, killing three people and injuring another 25, according to the state emergencies service. Residential buildings were hit, including a five-story house, while vehicles caught fire in different districts.
Kyiv residents took refuge in underground metro stations during the overnight attack, a common practice for protection during the ongoing war. By afternoon, the death toll rose to five.
According to BBC Verify analysis, Kyiv has experienced more daily air raid alerts than at any time since Russia’s full-scale invasion began in 2022.
In Russia, buildings were damaged in the city of Saratov during a Ukrainian drone attack, reported its regional governor Roman Busargin.
The talks with Trump’s top envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in Moscow and Kyiv yielded no major breakthroughs. Zelensky anticipated that the war would persist into winter, following the envoys’ first visit to Ukraine since the full-scale invasion.
In Moscow, President Vladimir Putin’s senior adviser Yuri Ushakov stated that the US envoys were informed about Russia’s position.
