We are peaceful and taking to the streets for our rights and to raise our voice for justice, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar told journalists.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Sep, 2026) PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar has said that there is undeclared governor's rule in
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa , stressing that this should not happen and that the people of the province, their mandate, the chief minister , and members of the assembly must be respected.
Speaking to journalists outside Parliament House, Barrister Gohar said the party had announced its programme long ago and there had been no change in it. Regarding confidence in the chief minister, he stated that Sohail Afridi was their chief minister, Imran Khan had confidence in him, and he would remain chief minister. Sohail Afridi had everyone's support, he added, saying these were the instructions of the founding chairman.
Barrister Gohar argued that talks must be held at such a serious time when a long march was about to take place. “This is not the time to use net launchers against political people coming to the long march. Net launchers are not used against political people; they are listened to and their grievances are addressed.”
He continued, saying: “We are saying that we should be heard. We are peaceful and taking to the streets for our rights; we are raising our voice for justice. We have repeatedly said that we were not heard and did not receive justice.”
The PTI chairman clarified that the party had not formed any four-member committee for negotiations. He said Allama Raja Nasir Abbas and Mahmood Achakzai could do whatever they deemed appropriate regarding talks. “We were peaceful, are peaceful and will remain peaceful. We will not attack institutions or Islamabad,” he said.
He emphasized the need for the government to address this narrative and perception. If the government created such an impression, a political party with a large following would be removed from the political arena, he said, adding that removing political parties from the political field had extremely dangerous consequences.
