UNICEF Appreciates Pakistan Customs for Seamless Facilitation of Humanitarian Cargo to Afghanistan
UNICEF expresses gratitude towards Pakistan Customs for their efficient coordination and facilitation, ensuring the timely movement of humanitarian cargo destined for Afghanistan.

KARACHI (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 25th Aug, 2026) A delegation from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), consisting of Mustafa Deniz, Deputy Representative (Operations), and Tanveer Asim, Associate Supply & Logistics, visited Irfan Javed, Director General of the Directorate General of Transit Trade, Karachi, on Tuesday to convey their appreciation.
During the meeting, the UNICEF delegation commended the effective coordination and assistance provided by Pakistan Customs in smoothly transporting humanitarian supplies to Afghanistan via the land route. The transit trade department facilitated the movement of 355 containers of UNICEF humanitarian cargo through Pakistan, adhering to the guidelines set by the Ministry of Commerce and the Federal Board of Revenue.
The representatives from UNICEF extended their gratitude to the Director General, as well as to Rashid Munir Siddiqui (Director), Zahra Haider (Director), Ghulam Haider Mahesar (Additional Director), Athar Naveed (Additional Director), and Shafaat Ali Mirza (Deputy Director) for their crucial roles in facilitating the humanitarian cargo.
They specifically highlighted the seamless processing and efficient movement of goods, enabling prompt delivery of essential aid to Afghanistan. The Directorate General of Transit Trade reaffirmed its commitment to providing transparent and uninterrupted support for humanitarian and international transit cargo while adhering to Pakistani regulations.
