The University of Sargodha (UoS) has granted permanent workman status to 118 staff members and promoted 16 employees, following approvals from its Syndicate and the Higher Education Department’s Permanent Workman Policy.
This announcement was made during a ceremony held at the University’s Multipurpose Hall on September 09, 2026. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas served as the chief guest, accompanied by Abbas Haider Gondal, Chairman of Intermediate and Secondary Education Sargodha, as the guest of honor.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Dr. Qaiser Abbas highlighted his tenure’s significance, thanking the university community for their support. He noted the institution’s remarkable progress, including development projects valued at Rs. 65 billion, which have elevated UoS among Pakistan’s top ten universities. Emphasizing merit-based promotions, he stated that these awards recognized employees’ dedication and hard work.
Registrar Waqar Ahmad reported over 500 teacher and employee regularizations, 735 time-scale benefits, 100 promotions, and 118 permanent workman status grants during Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas’s tenure.
Dr. Munir Gujjar, Director of the Co-Curricular Forum, and Mehr Ahmad Khan Haral, Director of Sports, also offered their compliments. The latter presented a comprehensive report detailing UoS achievements since its establishment in 2002.
