Uraan Pakistan Initiatives Train 160,000 Youth, Enroll 114,300 Out-of-School Children
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 8th Sep, 2026) Uraan Pakistan-linked initiatives have made significant strides, training 160,000 youth under various programs and enrolling 114,300 out-of-school children, as part of efforts to expand access to education and skills development.
According to documents from Wealth Pakistan, approximately 160,000 youth have been trained through the Prime Minister Youth Skill Development Programme, aligning with the focus on promoting technical and vocational education and training.
Progress has also been noted in achieving equitable access to education. The Enrolment, Retention and Progression of Out-of-School Children in Islamabad Capital Territory initiative has successfully enrolled 114,300 children.
These initiatives encompass the establishment of Daanish Schools in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) and lagging districts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Sindh.
The academic session at the Daanish School in ICT has commenced, with 180 boys and 180 girls enrolled.
In addition to improving infrastructure, 152 educational institutions in ICT are being renovated, and 411 new classrooms are being added. Two new colleges are also being constructed under the Federal Directorate of Education.
Early childhood education has expanded with 100 Early Childhood Education (ECE) centers established in existing institutions, accommodating approximately 5,500 children.
Efforts to enhance teaching quality are being implemented through the National Institute of Excellence in Teacher’s Education. A Continuous Professional Development (CPD) center has been established, comprising 55 coaches, 12 RMs, and a programme manager, along with support staff.
The initiative has achieved 95% teacher participation in the digital platform. A three-level induction and in-service certification program, verified by AKU, has been developed, and a training development studio has also been set up.
Technology is being integrated into education delivery through the Rumi app, described as an all-in-one innovative solution tailored to teachers’ needs and class sizes. It facilitates real-time classroom observation and feedback in six languages.
A Digital Hub-Connected Classroom YouTube channel has also been launched. Under the Daanish Schools initiative, state-of-the-art Google labs, computer labs, and science labs are planned.
Furthermore, a state-of-the-art Centre of Excellence for Autism Children is under construction at H-8/4, Islamabad.
