Iran has reportedly launched indiscriminate missile strikes on US targets in Jordan, fired dozens of ballistic missiles at a US airbase, and claimed to have targeted 20 vessels in the Persian Gulf.

Rising Tensions Between US and Iran

Tensions between the United States and Iran in the Middle East have reached an extremely dangerous stage. According to US Central Command, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) attempted twice over the past two days to attack a US warship in Gulf waters with ballistic missiles. However, US air defenses and the warship successfully thwarted both attacks. In response to these actions, US forces destroyed five Iranian crude oil tankers. All US personnel remained safe, and US naval patrols continue in international waters of the region.

Iranian Response

Iranian state media and IRGC sources confirmed that Iran announced a strong response immediately after the US operation. Dozens of ballistic missiles were launched from military bases in Tehran, Isfahan, Tabriz, and Khorramabad. The IRGC targeted the Al Azraq US military base in Jordan with more than two dozen ballistic missiles.

Russian media reports stated that the Pentagon’s advanced air defense system in Jordan activated immediately to destroy Iranian missiles in the air.

Escalation of Situations

Further escalating the situation, the Iranian Navy and IRGC declared the Gulf states of Kuwait and Bahrain equal partners in US actions. Iran’s armed forces warned that all oil tankers anchored or present at ports in Kuwait and Bahrain could also be targeted, urging crews of all vessels to evacuate immediately.
