US Embassy Issues Security Alert Over Alleged Fairford Base Attack Plot

The alert stated that places and gatherings associated with the United States could face security risks and urged American citizens in the UK to remain vigilant.
Meanwhile, five people arrested near the military base are being questioned by British police counterterrorism officers. The suspects are being interrogated over suspected links to Iran and terrorism-related offences, while their identities have not yet been disclosed. Security has also been increased at other US military bases in the UK.
Security at Fairford military base was placed on high alert the previous day following reports of suspicious individuals. The Royal Air Force base at Fairford houses US bomber aircraft.
