Max Verstappen has completed an extraordinary feat, overtaking 100 amateur drivers in just 14 laps during an exhibition go-kart race at Silverstone.
The four-time Formula 1 world champion had a maximum of 35 laps and 75 minutes to pass every driver on an adapted track, with participants including TV personalities, sport stars, and social media influencers—no professional racing drivers were present.
Verstappen, 28, warned competitors "it's not a charity event" over the radio as he swiftly moved up the field, overtaking each driver who retired after being passed.
By lap six, the Dutchman was in 37th place and rapidly climbing; by lap 10, he had risen to fourth, with every driver ahead of him forced to retire. The final driver to be passed was Dutch F1 journalist Jacky Martens, who held pole position after qualifying, as Verstappen completed his challenge with over 40 minutes and 21 laps remaining.
Verstappen began his racing career in karting and has since won four consecutive F1 titles between 2021 and 2024.
