Video Emerges of Alleged Arrest of KP Minister Fazal Shakoor

A video has surfaced purportedly showing the arrest of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Minister Fazal Shakoor Khan on a motorway, with masked men in plain clothes allegedly seen firing at the tyres of his vehicle.

According to the viral video and a statement by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MPA Abdul Ghani Afridi:

  • The provincial minister’s official vehicle was stopped without justification on the motorway.
  • Masked men targeted the tyres with Kalashnikovs, causing them to burst and the vehicle’s windows to shatter.
  • Fazal Shakoor was subsequently taken into custody and transferred to an undisclosed location.

Expressing serious concern over the incident, Abdul Ghani Afridi stated:

"If an elected provincial minister is subjected to such unconstitutional and violent treatment, it raises questions about the safety of ordinary Pakistanis' lives, property, and honour in the country."

He appealed for mercy, stressing that politics should remain politics and differences of opinion should be resolved democratically. Afridi added:

"Imran Khan has always advocated peaceful struggle within the framework of the Constitution and law... We will continue our constitutional struggle without taking the law into our own hands."

Political differences should not be criminalized, he emphasized, calling for the supremacy of the Constitution and law instead of force.
