WASA Cracks Down on Illegal Water Connections in Quetta

QUETTA, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 22nd Aug, 2026) The Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) has intensified its campaign against illegal water connections in the city, conducting operations in Gawalmandi Chowk and Haji Ghaibi Road.

Led by Special Magistrate WASA Habib-ur-Rehman Kakar, the operation targeted several industrial units and factories. During inspections, multiple unauthorized water connections were identified and immediately disconnected. In addition, five factories found violating regulations were sealed, and legal notices were issued to their owners.

According to WASA officials, the crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal water usage and ensure fair distribution of resources. The Authority stressed that unauthorized connections are unacceptable and warned that violators will face strict legal action.

Special Magistrate Habib-ur-Rehman Kakar stated, "All industrial and commercial establishments must comply with WASA’s rules and obtain water connections through proper legal procedures." He cautioned against illegal practices, emphasizing that enforcement will continue without discrimination.

WASA further announced that the campaign against illegal connections would be intensified to guarantee transparent and lawful water supply across Quetta.
