WASA Sets 24-hour Deadline For Resolving Sewerage, Water Supply Complaints
Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) authorities in Faisalabad have been put on a 24-hour clock to resolve citizens’ sewerage and water supply complaints. Managing Director Engineer Saqib Raza emphasized that timely and quality redress of public grievances is the top operational priority, with zero tolerance for unnecessary delays.
During a meeting with officers from various directorates, MD WASA directed all directors to give special attention to citizen complaints, ensuring their resolution within 24 hours according to prescribed quality standards. He stated that timely disposal of public complaints is WASA’s foremost priority and no compromise will be made on speed or quality of remedial work.
A zero-tolerance policy has been adopted against delays in resolving complaints. Engineer Saqib Raza instructed the Operations Directorate to focus on repairing settled lawns, desilting activities, and addressing public complaints, while also obtaining feedback from complainants after their issues are resolved.
He announced that subdivisions demonstrating timely and quality complaint resolution will receive appreciation certificates, while those with pending or delayed resolutions will be issued show-cause notices. Additionally, he directed all deputy directors to identify and repair sewerage lines in their respective areas, minimizing recurring sewerage problems and providing effective drainage facilities to citizens.
The operations staff was also instructed to prepare a comprehensive plan for desilting sewerage lines and roadside drains, initiating its implementation without delay. He emphasized the importance of coordinated monitoring, prompt field response, and quality repair work for ensuring better sewerage and water supply services and improving public satisfaction with WASA operations.
