Successful talks are essential for the nation and democracy, while governor’s rule or an emergency should not be imposed, the PTI chairman said.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Oct, 2026) PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar has stated that they are not refusing negotiations, but the talks must be unconditional.
Addressing journalists, Barrister Gohar emphasized the significance of successful negotiations for the country, the nation, and democracy. He criticized the imposition of governor’s rule or an emergency, claiming that the province is grappling with terrorism. He demanded meetings with Imran Khan and the release of detained leaders.
He further alleged that no doctor from London had been called to treat the former prime minister, despite a doctor being available in Lahore.
"The prime minister"* had offered conditional negotiations, while the government was placing restrictions on them, he said.
"We are political people, and political people sit down unconditionally. We have not refused negotiations, but the talks must be unconditional," he emphasized.
According to Barrister Gohar, the government had focused more on press conferences than on negotiations, which could have resolved the issue faster. He revealed that they were in communication with government members and attempting to find a solution through dialogue.
He clarified that he had not met Mohsin Naqvi at night and had instead met Allama Nasir Abbas to consult him on the All-Parties Conference. Allama Raja Nasir Abbas was correct in asserting that negotiations cannot be conditional, and they had made it clear that problems should be resolved through dialogue.
