WETEX 2026 to Showcase Integrated Solutions for Sustainable Mobility

DUBAI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM – September 7, 2026) The Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2026) will display sustainable mobility solutions from October 20-22, 2026, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Organized by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), the event’s Green Mobility Zone will feature:

  • Electric and hydrogen vehicles
  • Charging technologies
  • Fleet management solutions

Connecting transport operators, utilities, investors, and technology providers.

Global EV Trend

The exhibition comes amid a surge in electric vehicle (EV) demand. According to the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) Global EV Outlook 2026:

  • Global EV sales hit 20 million in 2025, accounting for 25% of new cars sold.
  • Sales are projected to reach 23 million in 2026, representing 28% of total car sales.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA and Founder and Chairman of WETEX, stated:

Charging Infrastructure

He emphasized the importance of reliable charging solutions, stronger collaboration among stakeholders, and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology for efficient renewable energy integration.

Dubai’s EV Landscape

Dubai’s EV charging points reached 2,223 in Q1 2026, with 47,944 EVs at the end of 2025, a 28% increase year-over-year.

Public and Commercial Fleets

Regular routes and high utilization in public and commercial fleets enable cost-benefit analysis and infrastructure efficiency assessment.

WETEX 2025 Initiatives

DEWA and the Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) inaugurated an ultra-fast charging hub with 24 charging points, each capable of 360 kilowatts (kW), enabling simultaneous charging of 24 vehicles in 35 minutes.
