Today, Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband informed Parliament that the UK would implement a ban on importing goods from Israeli settlements in the illegally occupied West Bank.
In his address, he acknowledged the UK government’s agreement that ethnic cleansing is occurring in specific West Bank regions and that the Israeli government is turning a “blind eye” to these actions. Israel has subsequently reacted by closing the British consulate in Jerusalem and prohibiting 11 left-wing MPs from entering the country.
