China has warned of a "high risk" that a newly formed lake behind a landslide at the Nepal-Tibet border may breach its banks, potentially triggering a second devastating flood downstream.

The warning comes after a deadly flash flood on Wednesday, which scientists attribute to the collapse of a mountain glacier into a river.
