Workers Must Be Paid Salaries Before The 5th: Maryam Nawaz
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has issued strict orders to enhance the effectiveness of the Suthra Punjab cleanliness operation and ensure timely payment to workers. She directed that salaries should be paid before the 5th of every month, with immediate legal action against those who delay payments.
On her instructions, payments have been completed for workers of 149 out of 151 companies under Suthra Punjab. Nawaz emphasized that negligence or financial irregularities in the cleanliness operation will not be tolerated. She also plans to recognize environmentally conscious citizens with "Environment Friendly Citizen" stickers and gifts.
The Chief Minister has taken several measures to improve the cleanliness operation:
- MD WASA to spend at least 2 hours daily in the field.
- TMOs and FMOs to visit 5 union councils daily.
- Deployment of a Clean Punjab Anti-Littering Squad on e-bikes.
- Appointing KPIs for MD, FMOs, and TMOs, with performance reports monitored.
- No postings for 3 years for underperforming MDs.
Nawaz emphasized the need for field work by officers and staff, stating that those who sit in offices while others work on the ground are unacceptable. She pointed out the unsatisfactory condition of waste enclosures on main roads, calling for daily improvements in Suthra Punjab’s cleanliness operations.
