Pakistan Today

LARKANA, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – September 01, 2026) The Regional Consultant of the Provincial Ombudsman for harassment against women Sindh, Regional Office Larkana, Syed Shakeel Haider, on Tuesday said that women working in institutions should develop courage and raise their voices against any harassment they face.

Addressing a seminar at the (NICVD) Cardiac Hospital Larkana regarding the prevention of harassment of women at workplaces, he stated:

If a woman is subjected to harassment, she should gather courage and confidence, raise her voice against it, collect evidence, and should not remain silent, because silence isn’t a solution. She should also share her experiences with her parents and close family members for their support.

Haider noted that complaints of harassment are addressed under the 2010 law, emphasizing that women must demonstrate responsibility and courage to take advantage of these provisions. He added that women also face harassment in workplaces like hospitals, encouraging them not to stay quiet but speak up against such incidents.

The Ombudsman’s office aims to provide redressal and justice to citizens. If women working in government institutions encounter harassment, the concerned institution can take action against the harasser and conduct an inquiry.

Dr. Fayyaz Mujtaba Shah, Head of (NICVD) Larkana, Abdul Waheed Soomro, Administrator, Information Officer Larkana Muhammad Aslam Khokhar, Photographer Nazakat Ali Samo, and other officers and staff members of the institution attended the seminar.
