478 Households Receive Free Solar Home System Kits in Four Districts
UrduPoint (August 19, 2026) – The distribution and installation of Solar Home System (SHS) kits among eligible households under the Sindh Government’s "Roshan Ghar – Roshan Sindh" vision continued in different districts of the province on Wednesday.
As many as 478 solar kits were distributed among deserving families in four districts:
- Shikarpur: 56 kits
- Ghotki: 4 kits
- Qamber-Shahdadkot: 354 kits
- Kashmore at Kandhkot: 64 kits
The solar kits are being distributed under the Solar Home System (On-grid/Off-grid) project of the Energy Department, Government of Sindh, which is being implemented by SRSO. The project aims to provide reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy through solar technology to 275,000 households across 30 districts of Sindh through a transparent selection process.
The organization clarified that the kits were distributed free of cost after a transparent verification process in accordance with the eligibility criteria set by the Sindh government. No fee or charges are collected at any stage from surveyed households for verification, distribution or installation of the solar kits.
