95% Construction Work Completed on 286-bed General Hospital in Layyah

LAYYAH, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 20th Aug, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Layyah Asif Ali Dogar has stated that 95 percent of construction work on the 286-bed General Hospital Layyah has been finished. He added that installation, commissioning, and testing of essential medical equipment are currently underway.

According to the Deputy Commissioner, the state-of-the-art hospital is expected to be operational by October this year, expanding from its original 200-bed capacity to 286 beds, aligning with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision. The project has also received an additional Rs2 billion in recommended funds, expediting construction and development.

The hospital will boast four fully functional operation theatres capable of simultaneous operations and modern medical facilities, ensuring quality healthcare services for Layyah and surrounding areas. Landscaping work, including grassy areas and tree plantation, is also underway with support from relevant departments.

Asphalted by Phase-II of the project, the Deputy Commissioner Asif Ali Dogar announced that after the General Hospital’s completion, work on a residential block will commence.
