Azad Jammu and Kashmir Acting President Stresses Business Community’s Role in Economic Growth
MIRPUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – September 15, 2026) Acting President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Chaudhry Tariq Farooq on Tuesday emphasized the private sector’s investment potential for creating employment and strengthening the state’s economy. He spoke during a meeting with a delegation from the Mirpur AJK Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), led by its President, Umar Shehzad Jeral.
The delegation discussed ways to boost industrial and commercial activities and encourage investment in the region. They shared their perspective on challenges faced by the business community, available investment opportunities, and economic development priorities in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Chaudhry Tariq Farooq highlighted the business community’s crucial role in driving economic growth and noted that the government prioritizes promoting industry and trade while fostering a conducive environment for businesses. He assured that proposals from the business community would receive due consideration to enhance industrial and commercial activities in Mirpur and throughout AJK, promising governmental support through coordination with relevant institutions to address investor and trader concerns.
