Allah Protects Me, I Would Die Today in Your Hands: Sohail Afridi’s Exchange With Punjab Police

An intriguing exchange took place between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and a Punjab Police official during his visit to Punjab.
"Get out of here, people; I do not need your protection," instructed the chief minister to police personnel.
LAHORE (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Sep, 2026) According to reports, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi addressed DSP and other senior officers from Punjab Police, stating: "Do you people have any other work, or are you only doing this? There is no public vehicle here either, and you are spreading fear under the pretext of security."
A senior Punjab Police officer present responded, "Sir! We have been deployed here for no other purpose but to protect you."
Afridi expressed his distrust, replying: "Allah Almighty protects me. I do not need security from you people. If my life were in your hands and you had your way, I would not die tomorrow; I would die today."
Media reporters on the scene noted that due to heavy deployment of Punjab Police and strict security blockades, local residents and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers hesitated to approach the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister. Sohail Afridi, sensing the situation, broke through the police cordon and greeted ordinary citizens, shaking hands with them and asking about their well-being.
