UrduPoint (September 17, 2026) - According to official sources, around 2,000 Class-IV posts have been abolished across District Education Authorities (DEAs) in Punjab.

These include positions of watchmen, security guards, gardeners, and office attendants (Naib Qasids). The breakdown is as follows:

  • 770 posts of watchmen and security guards
  • 525 posts of gardeners
  • 705 posts of office attendants

District-wise figures show Rahim Yar Khan with the highest number of abolished posts (120), followed by Faisalabad (95), Bahawalpur (93), Vehari (88), Sargodha (82), Sialkot (76), and Bahawalnagar (72).

Lower numbers were recorded in Lahore (58), Rawalpindi (56), Okara (55), and Multan (54).

The decision will result in a reduced sanctioned strength of Class-IV employees within DEAs across the province.
