Mikel Arteta has reached a final agreement with Arsenal to extend his stay at the club, following months of negotiations. His current deal expires at the end of this season but an agreement was close, as reported by BBC Sport earlier this month.

The Spaniard was appointed Arsenal boss in December 2019, and his new contract is set to take him into at least his 10th year at the club. It includes a significant pay increase from his current £10m-per-year salary plus an additional £5m in bonuses.

Arteta expressed his happiness to stay earlier this week, stating fans need not "worry" as he wanted to build a dynasty at the club. He views winning Arsenal's first Premier League title in 20 years last season as just the beginning, with a Champions League win within their reach before a gut-wrenching defeat.

The foundation of Arsenal's recent revival remains intact, with Arteta committed to further success.
