Commissioner Karachi chairs Provincial Paigham-e-Aman Committee meeting
KARACHI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – August 18, 2026) Commissioner Karachi, Syed Hassan Naqvi, chaired a meeting of the Provincial Paigham-e-Aman Committee on Tuesday at his office.
Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi Azad Khan, religious scholars from different schools of thought, and representatives of various faiths attended.
The participants welcomed the establishment of the Paigham-e-Aman Committee and expressed their commitment to working together to promote harmony and unity. They stressed mutual respect and tolerance for the country’s development, stability, and prosperity.
The commissioner emphasized the Paigham-e-Aman Committee’s active role in promoting peace and strengthening dialogue among society’s diverse segments. He highlighted the crucial role of religious scholars and leaders in fostering societal harmony.
Key Decisions:
- Leaders of all schools of thought will demonstrate cooperation, friendship, love, and tolerance during each other’s religious events.
- Coordination between religious leaders and the Karachi administration and police will be strengthened.
- The administration and police will provide support for organizing religious events.
- An appointed focal person will facilitate coordination between committee members, the administration, and the police. Additional Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Atif will serve as the coordinator.
- A WhatsApp group comprising committee members, administration, and police officials will be created for easier coordination.
