Commissioner Sets One-week Deadline For Road, Sewerage Upgrade in Raja Nadir Khan Colony
Divisional Commissioner Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh has set a one-week deadline for repair and rehabilitation of the main road and upgradation of the sewerage system in 279 Raja Nadir Khan Wali, directing the concerned departments to complete the work by August 31.
The development works are scheduled to commence on August 24.
During a visit to the locality, the divisional commissioner met residents and reviewed their civic problems, particularly those related to the sewerage system. He issued directions to the concerned departments for immediate remedial measures.
Taking prompt notice of the sewerage issue, he called WASA machinery to the site, resulting in immediate relief to the affected residents. He stated that the temporary intervention had addressed the immediate problem while WASA was working on a permanent solution.
Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh emphasized that repair and rehabilitation of the main road and sewerage improvement would be undertaken on a fast-track basis. He directed Director Development Asif Iqbal Chohan to personally supervise the works and ensure their completion within the stipulated timeframe.
He stressed on transparency, quality, and proper utilization of public resources throughout the process and added that there would be zero tolerance for any compromise.
The commissioner noted that the administration was taking rapid measures to address sewerage-related issues across Faisalabad and closely monitoring civic problems in different areas. He explained that field visits were aimed at ensuring prompt practical solutions to public complaints. Citizens, he added, have a legitimate expectation of functional roads, efficient sewerage systems, and other basic municipal facilities.
Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh assured residents that progress on the development works would be regularly monitored and directed that the project be completed on time to minimize inconvenience and provide improved civic facilities to the locality.
