DC, DPO Inaugurate Central 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal Procession
SIALKOT, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – August 26, 2026) : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sialkot, Owais Mushtaq, along with District Police Officer Captain (retd) Dost Muhammad, inaugurated the central procession of 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal here on Wednesday.
According to a spokesperson for the DC office, the procession started from Masjid Abu Hanifa on Murray College Road and was attended by Coordinator District Peace Committee Hafiz Asghar Ali Cheema, office-bearers of the Peace Committee, procession organizers, and a large number of citizens.
Addressing the participants, DC Owais Mushtaq said:
Following the teachings and exemplary life of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) was the path to success and salvation in this world and the Hereafter.
He further stated that:
Islam is one of the fastest-growing religions in the world.
DC Mushtaq expressed hope that the processions on 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal would reach their destinations peacefully, assuring that the administration had made optimal arrangements. He also reviewed the arrangements for the central procession.
Police, Rescue 1122, Civil Defence and Suthra Punjab personnel were deployed along the route while the Municipal Corporation established sabeels (water stations) for participants.
Special prayers were offered for the progress, prosperity, and peace of the country.
