DG Agriculture Reviews Cotton Crop Condition

DG Agriculture, Dr. Aamir Rasool, visited cotton-growing areas in Dunyapur tehsil, Multan, on Sunday to assess the crop situation and pest management measures. Accompanied by Deputy Directors from Lodhran and Dunyapur, he inspected fields, noted a mild presence of pink bollworm and sucking pests, and expressed satisfaction with the overall crop health and yield.

According to a spokesperson, Dr. Rasool reported an average yield of 12-14 maunds per acre from the first two pickings. He advised farmers to adhere to official advisories for pest control, particularly pink bollworm and mealybug, and urged need-based pesticide application at seven-day intervals.

The DG directed field formations to maintain active surveillance and provide technical guidance to growers to ensure maximum yield.
