District Administration Reviews Facilities For Prisoners At Abbottabad Jail

ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Sep, 2026) Additional Deputy Commissioner Relief and Human Rights Amanullah Saeed, on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Sarmad Saleem Akram, visited the District Jail Abbottabad along with members of the relevant committee and reviewed the facilities being provided to prisoners.
During the visit, the delegation inspected:
- Prisoners’ accommodation
- Cleanliness
- Medical facilities
- Food arrangements
- Other administrative matters
The Additional Deputy Commissioner also met jail authorities and emphasized the protection of human rights, provision of basic facilities, and effective rehabilitation measures for prisoners. The prisoners were engaged in direct interaction, during which their problems and concerns were heard. Concerned officials were directed to take necessary measures to address the issues.
Amanullah Saeed was informed that, with cooperation from the Education Department, furniture and books were being provided for prisoners, and daily educational classes were conducted. Arrangements had also been made for social and religious education.
He stressed the importance of ensuring a transparent system, protecting prisoners’ basic rights, and strengthening the rehabilitation process.
The district administration is continuing measures under the provincial government’s Good Governance Roadmap to improve service delivery and safeguard human rights.
