Chief Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court, Justice Aminuddin Khan, stated that upholding the supremacy of Pakistan’s Constitution at all costs during the exercise of state and judicial powers is crucial. He emphasized that the country’s political and economic stability hinges upon adhering to the Constitution and respecting the defined limits of state institutions.
Addressing the formal opening of the new judicial year, Justice Aminuddin noted that the Federal Constitutional Court is responsibly fulfilling all its constitutional responsibilities. He stressed that the Constitution clearly delineates the powers and limitations of all institutions, and it should be the paramount consideration in authority execution. According to him, national and social stability can only be achieved by adhering to the Constitution’s spirit.
The Chief Justice asserted that timely and non-discriminatory access to constitutional justice is every citizen’s fundamental legal right. He emphasized that the Federal Constitutional Court prioritizes providing transparent justice to the public without bias. The court has swiftly delivered verdicts on several significant and intricate constitutional cases within a brief period, with modern technology playing a pivotal role in enhancing transparency and institutional efficiency during judicial proceedings.
In his address, Justice Aminuddin reinforced that judicial independence holds paramount importance for any society’s survival. He acknowledged the vital role of bar associations nationwide in the system, assuring that all appointments and bench formations for hearing cases at the court are conducted with complete transparency and on merit.
