Five-Day Polio Campaign To Target 505,000 Children

Additional Deputy Commissioner Mujahid Waseem Durrani chaired a meeting to review preparations for the upcoming national anti-polio campaign in Bahawalpur district. He emphasized that no child should be left out of the vaccination drive, scheduled to begin on September 21.
Durrani stressed the need for effective collaboration between all relevant departments and polio teams to achieve complete eradication of polio. He directed team members to dedicate themselves fully to their field work, ensuring every child under five receives the prescribed polio drops during the campaign.
He also ordered strict monitoring of both mobile and fixed vaccination teams, warning against absence or negligence. The ADC further instructed authorities to raise awareness among parents during the campaign and offer full support to field teams.
Chief Executive Officer Health, Dr Zeeshan Rauf, shared that a target of vaccinating 505,000 children had been set for this campaign. He explained the campaign would run from September 21-24, with mobile polio teams visiting households and administering drops to children. Special efforts would also be made to reach those potentially missed during initial rounds.
Rauf noted that 1,975 mobile teams and 89 fixed teams had been formed for this drive. Additionally, 402 area in-charges and 75 Union Council Monitoring Officers would oversee operations.
