Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA) office-bearers stated on Sunday that the significant interest from buyers worldwide in participating in the 42nd World Exhibition of Handmade Carpets, organized in collaboration with the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, is highly encouraging.
Chairing a PCMEA review meeting, Association’s Chairman Mian Atiq-ur-Rehman and Exhibition Chairman Riaz Ahmed mentioned that over 50 foreign buyers have registered thus far, with expectations exceeding 100. This international exhibition aims to secure new buyers for Pakistan’s handmade carpet industry, generate export orders, and further solidify its global position.
The meeting reviewed the preparations for the world exhibition, with Patron-in-Chief Abdul Latif Malik, Chairperson Carpet Training Institute Ijaz-ur-Rehman, Senior Member Usman Ashraf, and Saeed Khan, representatives from committees established for exhibition preparations, providing detailed updates.
Mian Atiq-ur-Rehman and Riaz Ahmed emphasized that Pakistani handmade carpets hold a prominent place in the global market due to their superior quality, unique designs, and modern aesthetics. However, establishing direct connections with global buyers and implementing effective marketing strategies are crucial for enhancing exports.
They expressed hope that the world exhibition will serve as a pivotal platform for securing new export orders and gaining access to fresh global markets for Pakistani carpets. They urged manufacturers and exporters who have secured exhibition stalls to display products adorned with high-quality, modern designs and facilitate side meetings with foreign buyers for future business ties.
Reaffirming their commitment, they stated that through this world exhibition, they aim to highlight Pakistan’s carpet industry globally, leading to a substantial increase in export volumes. The meeting also underscored the determination to provide excellent facilities to foreign buyers, thereby enhancing Pakistan’s positive global image.
