Four-day SNIDs Polio Campaign Launched In Attock - UrduPoint

ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Sep, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Attock, Dr. Mudassar Ahmed Shah, on Monday inaugurated the four-day Sub-National Immunization Days (SNIDs) polio campaign in the district by administering anti-polio drops to children at Government Asfandyar Bukhari District Hospital.
Chief Executive Officer Health Dr. Asad Ismail, Medical Superintendent Government Asfandyar Bukhari District Hospital Dr. Jawad Elahi, and other health department officials were present.
The campaign, running from September 21 to 24, will target 182,174 children under five years of age across 36 union councils in Attock, Hassan Abdal, and Hazro tehsils.
According to the Health Department:
- 1,133 polio teams have been constituted (1,033 mobile, 74 fixed, and 26 transit teams).
- 36 Union Council Medical Officers and 212 Area In-charges are deployed for effective coverage and monitoring.
Speaking at the inauguration, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of:
- Timely deployment of teams
- Effective field monitoring
- Achieving assigned targets
He also appealed to parents to cooperate with polio teams and ensure their children under five receive anti-polio drops, protecting them from this debilitating disease.
