Garcia crushes overmatched Benn in two rounds

Ryan Garcia retained his WBC welterweight crown with a devastating second-round stoppage of Conor Benn in Las Vegas.
The American dominated from the opening bell, consistently punishing Benn as he charged forward with wild and desperate attacks.
Benn was dropped in round two but managed to beat the count before Garcia continued his assault until the referee intervened.
"I knew he would bring the pressure," said Garcia. "I felt the shots, but I knew his recklessness wouldn’t work against me."
The fight marked the end of Benn’s career at welterweight after a disappointing performance. Many had questioned his shot at the title due to a lack of experience fighting top opposition.
Garcia, 28, improved his record to 26-0 with the win in what was his first defence of the belt.
Earlier, a moment’s silence was held for Ricky Hatton, who died one year ago. Benn received a mixed reception as he entered the ring alongside his father Nigel, a former Las Vegas winner.
