Girls' Hockey Activities Held To Mark Defence Day, Over 100 Girls Participate
UrduPoint (September 09, 2026) - MIRPURKHAS: The Department of Sports and Youth Affairs organized girls' hockey activities and competitions in Mirpurkhas to celebrate Defence Day, with over 100 female players participating enthusiastically.
Hockey Activities and Training
The events were supervised by Lahore-based hockey coaches Areeba and Ms. Iram Baloch, who travelled from Jacobabad. The girls received training in hockey and learned about the basic rules, skills, and techniques of the game.
Hockey Series Between Dreamers Academy and Jacobabad Team
A two-day hockey series was held between Dreamers Academy, Mirpurkhas, and the Jacobabad Female Hockey Team. Both teams showcased excellent skills and impressive performances throughout the series.
Closing Ceremony
At the closing ceremony of the hockey series, District Sports Officer Wasdev Malhi welcomed the special guests. Several officials and representatives from various sports organizations, including Saleem Khan, Razi Ansari, Saleem Baloch, Amjad Soomro, Wahid Hussain Pehlwani, Aslam Qureshi, Iqbal Malik, Shoaib Bhatti, Nasir Baloch, Saeed Ahmed, Zam Zam, and Kanwal Narejo, were present.
Awards and Recognition
Trophy and cash prizes were distributed among the winning teams. The players were encouraged and appreciated for their performances. Speakers at the event praised the organization of the girls' hockey activities and the two-day hockey series on Defence Day.
