Ikhtiar Wali Khan stated that the government advocates resolving political matters through peaceful means and strives to steer clear of confrontation.
Speaking on a private television channel, Wali Khan suggested that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), like other political parties that have conducted peaceful protests, should adhere to a similar path. He expressed concern over statements made by certain PTI leaders, implying the potential for violence during their planned march on September 27th.
He assured that the government would take all necessary precautions to maintain peace and uphold law and order.
The PTI has claimed that their demonstration aims to demand the release of their founder, Imran Khan, emphasizing its peaceful nature.
Regarding the health of the incarcerated PTI leader, Wali Khan contradicted party assertions, attributing responsibility for providing medical care to prisoners to the jail administration.
His remarks came as Imran Khan underwent a medical check-up at Adiala Jail on Sunday by a team from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, examining his blood pressure, cholesterol, and eyesight. This occurred despite ongoing concerns raised by his party and family regarding his health, while prison authorities have denied allegations of inadequate medical attention.
